Three resistance fighters who belong to the Popular Resistance Committees were injured Wednesday, when they clashed with the Palestinian Security forces who prevented an attack with a car bomb at Al-Mintar (Karni) crossing which connects the Gaza Strip with proper, Palestinian sources said.

The source said a large force of the Palestinian security arrived at the area when they received intelligence information about a plot to detonate a car bomb at the crossing.  Meanwhile, a group of 12 armed men arrived at the scene and clashed with the security forces.

Israeli helicopters were also hovering above the area and the Israeli army beefed up its presence at the crossing and forced all the employees out of the terminal.

Khaled Abu Hilal, spokesman of the Ministry of Interior said "The Ministry is interested in keeping the crossing open a much as possible," and added that Palestinian sappers are working to defuse the bomb.
