Dozens of Palestinian school children from Um Touba village, in the West Bank, were attacked on Sunday morning by an extremist settlers group living in the Ma’oun illegal settlement outpost.
In spite of the Israeli military presence in the area and the alleged “escorting” of the school children, the settlers managed to attack them while the soldiers were not able to prevent the attack.
The army was escorting to the Palestinian school children as a result of the repeated settler attacks against them.
Also, the children reported that a settler woman pushed two of them unto thorn bushes at the side of the road.
According to an Israeli military source, three soldiers and a military jeep were escorting the children, but the soldiers did nothing to prevent the settlers from assaulting them.
