Palestinian medical sources reported on Saturday morning that two sisters were injured after the Israeli tanks fired shelled at areas in the northern part of the Gaza Strip. Nawal Mohammad Abu Azum, one and a half years old, and her sister Sabreen, three, received shrapnel injuries.
The sources added that one of the girls, Nawal, sustained injuries to her right hand, while her sister, Sabreen, sustained injuries to her foot .
Israeli military source claimed that the shelling came in response to the Al Quds Brigades, claiming responsibility for the shelling the Israeli Negev town of Sderot with two homemade shells.
In a separate incident, one member of the Palestinian security force was moderately injured after the Israeli Special Forces invaded Beit Lahia, in the northern part of the Gaza Strip.
This is the second time Israeli Special Forces units invaded the north Gaza . Last week, an Israeli special force invaded Al-Atatrah area ambushed and clashed with operatives of the Islamic Jihad during their firing homemade Shells at Al-Majdal occupied city, four resisters were killed and several civilians were injured including paramedics and journalists.
