Scores of right-wing Jewish settlers from Ramat Yashai settlement post, a settlement that overlooks the West Bank city of Hebron, have burned olive trees belonging to Palestinian residents of the city, on Friday.

The group attacked the olive groves and burned scores of trees.  Palestinian fire brigades rushed to the scene, but were delayed for several hours by the Israeli military at a checkpoint.  Because of the forced delay of the fire brigades, the fire burned out of control and destroyed nearly one hundred olive trees, the only source of income for most Palestinian farmers in the area, eyewitnesses reported.
