An Israeli strike on the Palestinian refugee camp of Ain Al Hilweh kills at least one person and wounds 15, including 5 children, early Wednesday, AlJazeera reported. According to Palestinian and Lebanese officials, the death and injuries were caused by shells launched by Israeli naval forces.
Ain Al Hilweh camp, near Sidon in southern Lebanon, is the first Palestinian refugee camp to be bombed by Israel since the start of its attack on Lebanon four weeks ago.
It is also the largest of the 12 Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon, home to about 50 000 refugees.
