Major Haitham Sha’ban, Palestinian security top officer was attacked by unknown gunmen who also stole his car and injured two of his bodyguards, Monday at noon.
Palestinian security sources reported that the unknown gunmen ambushed Sha’ban while he was on his way to work. Palestinian police chased the gunmen and clashed with them.
After a short gun fight, police officers managed to retrieve the car while the gunmen escaped unharmed, leaving behind some machineguns, a Palestinian police source reported.
The two injured bodyguards were moved to a nearby hospital and suffered moderate wounds, while Sha’ban escaped the attack unharmed.
