A moderate earthquake was felt across Jerusalem and the plains area on
Saturday at eight in the morning. The  quake was felt by residents of
those areas, especially by residents living in high buildings, no
damage or injuries were reported.

The quake was also felt in Jordanian areas west of Amman and the Jordan valley. It lasted for some seconds.

The epicenter of the quake was the Jordan Valley, it measured 4.4 on the Richter scale, and was a moderate sized quake.

Several months ago, a light earthquake measuring 3.2 on the Richter scale was felt in the Jordan valley area, and one year ago, a moderate earthquake, measuring 4.4 on the Richter Scale, was felt across the country.

The Israeli Ynetnews reported that Dr. Yoav Serana, Chairman of the Engineers Union, described the earthquake as wonderful since every earthquake releases energy, therefore more minor earthquakes means less chances for a larger one.
