Israeli vice premiere Shimon Peres said that Israel will transfer tax revenue Israel collects on behalf of the Palestinian Authority (P.A) if Israel is “confident that the money will not be used to launch attacks against it”.
The statements of Peretz came during his Wednesday meeting with Hilary Benn, the British Secretary of State for International Development.
Peretz claimed that Hamas is a movement that prefers “terror” instead of dialogue and peace, Israeli online daily Haaretz reported.
He told Benn that he expects the United Kingdom to take a clear stance against Hamas movement, Hezbollah and Iran.
According to Haaretz, Peretz met Benn to discuss the UK involvement in the joint Israeli-Palestinian-Jordanian project "Peace Valley" industrial park.
He suggested that Britain should give economic incentives to its companies in order to invest in the region.
Benn stated that his country is interested in participating in this project which will receive a preferred trade agreement, Haaretz reported.
The two leaders also held talks on the passage of goods through the Gaza Crossing, and Peretz stated that “Israel would examine the export of goods from the Gaza Strip through Al Arish airport in Egypt.
