The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has denied reports claiming that it sent weapons and ammunition to the Presidential Security Forces that are loyal to president Mahmoud Abbas. An official UAE source described these news as ‘lies’ and ‘far away from the truth’.
The source added that the UAE only sent bullet-proof vests and tents to the presidential guards upon a request from president Abbas.
The source added that the shipment was sent to the head of the Palestinian Authority which represents all of the Palestinian People.
Moreover, the UAE called on the Palestinian factions to end the internal clashes and strengthen their national unity. It also said that it has always supported that Palestinian people and their legitimate struggle in order to help them remain steadfast on their land and achieve their national interests of liberation and independence.
