The Israeli army attacked and closed two kindergarten schools near Bethlehem city in the southern part of the West Bank on Wednesday morning.
In Beit Fajar village south of Bethlehem city, Israeli troops attacked a kindergarten school and a day care centre that belong to a local charitable society organization. Eyewitnesses reported that soldiers searched the place and confiscated the children’s toys, bags and one computer then walled up the doors and left.
Around the same time, another Israeli army force stormed a kindergarten school in the village of Al Khadier to the south of Bethlehem city. Soldiers searched the school, took fax machines and computers then again walled up the doors and left.
The Israeli army gave no reason for the two attacks; the two schools are funded by local charitable societies and care for children whose families are facing difficult financial situations, sources in the city reported.
