Palestinian sources reported on Wednesday that one Palestinian refugee died in an explosion in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, as he was heading with his Iraqi nephew to hospital to receive medication for a chronic disease he suffered from. The incident took place on Monday morning when Mohammad Shihada left Al Baladiyyat compound, in Baghdad, with his Iraqi nephew. They were heading to Al Yarmouk Hospital in the city to conduct medical checkups and receive medications for a chronic disease.
Shihada’s nephew was also killed in the explosion which resulted from an explosive charge apparently left on the side of the street.
Thousands of Palestinian refugees are living in Al Baladiyyat compound; they fled from several Iraqi areas after several armed groups carried out repeated attacks against then, killing and injuring dozens of refugees.
