Palestinian sources reported on Friday that one Palestinian detainee was recently transferred from Gilboa’ Israeli detention facility to an Israeli hospital when he was attacked last week by several Israeli soldiers after they broke into the rooms, abused and attacked the detainees.Detainee Ra’ed Hassan Oweiss, 30, from the Jenin refugee camp, in the northern West Bank city of Jenin, is one of the leaders of the Al Aqsa Brigades, the armed wing of Fateh.
His wife, Um Shady, said that his father went to visit him on Thursday but the administration informed him that he was recently moved to Al Afula Israeli hospital after he sustained a head injury when the soldiers attacked the detainees.
His wife is a freed female detainee who was kidnapped and imprisoned by the Israeli army.
The father could not get any further information, and the vast majority of the Palestinians, is not allowed to enter Al Afula city, since it is inside the Israeli borders.
Meanwhile, his mother added that she is worried about the fate of her son, especially since the family was never informed or briefed on the health condition of their son, who is sentenced to two-left terms and additional thirty years.
She appealed the Red Cross to interfere and try to visit him in order to know his health condition and provide him with the needed care.
Oweiss was kidnapped by the Israeli army during the April 2002 Israeli military invasion to the camp, as the army carried out what Israeli describes as “Operation Defensive Shield”. The army also leveled their house, and the houses of their parents and brothers.
His brother Abdul-Karim was also kidnapped as was sentenced to five lifer-terms and additional twenty years, his brother Ahmad is sentenced to seven years, and his brother Samer was assassinated by the army.
