Palestinian sources reported that two Palestinian fighters were shot and killed on Thursday at dawn during armed clashes with Israeli forces that invaded Balata refugee camp, east of the city of Nablus. Two other fighters were injured and abducted by the army.Local sources stated that several military vehicles and jeeps, accompanied by two military bulldozers, invaded the camp from several directions and exchanged fire with dozens of resistance fighters, killing two and wounding at least two others.
The two slain fighters were identified as Maher Abu Al Reesh from Balata refugee camp, a member of the Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades, the armed wing of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), and Ahmad Al Nadi from Askar refugee camp, a member of the Al Aqsa Brigades, the armed wing of President Abbas’ Fatah party.
The bodies of the two deceased were moved to Rafidia Hospital in Nablus, while the two injured fighters were kidnapped and transferred to an unknown destination.
The invading military bulldozed some of the road surfaces and infrastructure in the Market Street area, in addition to demolishing doors and awnings of several stores.
