Al-Quds brigade, the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad announced on Tuesday that a member of the movement and another resident were killed in Israeli air strike that taregted the western part fo the Gaza Strip.In a statment sent to the press, the brigade confirmed that Mohammad Mhana, 24 was killed by an Israeli air strike after he fired home-made shells at Sderot.
According to the Israeli daily Haaretz, a Hamas member was also killed in the strike as he was also in the area. The home-made shells on Sedrot caused damages but no injuries, reported Haaretz.
On its’ part, the Islamic Jihad said in its statement that this attack comes as a response on the on-going Israeli offensive against the Palestinian people.
The Israeli offensive on Gaza, which escalated on Wednesday and continued through Monday morning, claimed the lives of more than 120 Palestinians and over 300 injured.
