Israeli army soldiers manning a checkpoint located south of Hebron city in the southern part of the West Bank shot and killed a Palestinian civilian crossing the checkpoint on Saturday.
Palestinian sources said that Khalil Al Zaa’ari, 28, was crossing the checkpoint, he was shot several times by the Israeli soldiers. Al Zaa’ari was taken by Israeli ambulance to an Israeli hospital were he died if his wounds.
The Israeli army radio reported that the man had a knife and was planning to stab and Israeli soldier with it, the radio added that soldiers ordered the man to drop the knife but he refused, then soldiers shot him several time.
No statement of an eyewitness was available by the time of the report.
