The Palestinian Ministry of Education in Gaza stated Friday evening that Independence Day, Sunday November 15, will be an ordinary school day, but Gaza schools would designate the first two classes to the occasion. Khaled Radi, spokesperson of the ministry, told the Maan News Agency, that the first and second classes in Gaza schools on Sunday would be about independence and its significance to the Palestinian people, while the rest of the school day would resume as usual.
Radi added that this way, students would become more aware of independence and its significance, instead of just staying at home.
UNRWA schools in Gaza would not designate any classes for the occasion and would have an ordinary school day.
Meanwhile, the Palestinian Government in the West Bank, headed by Dr. Salaam Fayyad, said that November 15 is an official holiday.
