Dr. Saeb Erekat, head of the negotiations department at the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), stated that the Palestinian Authority (P.A) presented a detailed plan to the United States regarding a proposal to end the conflict in the region.Dr. Erekat told Israeli paper, Haaretz, that the proposal was presented to the U.S Middle East envoy, George Mitchell, and added that the new plan includes maps and detailed documents regarding the Palestinian final status talks especially the issues of Jerusalem, borders, refugees, water and security arrangements.

The Palestinian official further stated that the P.A. did not receive any response from Israel.

He refused to provide further details regarding the plan and only said that Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, presented details and offers that were not presented in the past to former Israeli Prime Minister, Ehud Olmert.
