Dozens of Palestinian and International protesters were wounded during the nonviolent weekly anti-wall protest in the village of Ni’lin near Ramallah in the central West Bank.Israeli troops fired a number of tear gas canisters and stun grenades at the protesters who marched after the Friday prayer to protest the construction of the wall on their lands.
Sources from the village said, that after the march was over, Israeli soldiers chased the protesters back to the village and stopped some youth and assaulted them.
Also in the nearby Nabi Saleh village, soldiers dispersed another anti-wall protest with tear gas and sound bombs.
Several protesters were treated by field medics for gas inhalation, Mohammad at-Tamimi, one of the local organizers of the action said. He added that the Israeli soldiers chased the protesters to the village after the protest was over.
Israel is building part of the wall on land that belong to villagers from Nabi Saleh village and Israeli settlers are trying to take over some of the land to expand the settlement of Halmish.
