Egyptian sources reported Friday that a Sudanese man was shot and killed by Egyptian Border Police Fire while trying to infiltrate into Israel through the Sinai Peninsula. An Egyptian security source reported that the 26-year-old man was shot by a live round in the head after failing to cede to soldiers demands to stop.
In related news, the Egyptian Security Forces arrested two Eritrean men near border marker #13 nearly 13 kilometers south of the Rafah Border Terminal.
The two were taken for questioning and admitted that they paid a 1000 USD each to smugglers in order to help them infiltrate into Israel to seek work.
Dozens of African immigrants, mainly from Sudan and Eretria, were killed and wounded by the Egyptian Border Police in the past year while trying to sneak into Israel to seek work; dozens were also arrested.
