Palestinian residents of Israel are holding a general strike, on Friday, marking the tenth anniversary of Ariel Sharon’s incursion of al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem.The Palestinians will commemorate the anniversary of this event by placing lights and wreaths in the cemeteries of the 12 Palestinians killed in the initial protests, and stage a demonstration in Kafr Kanaa town, in the Galilee.
It should be noted that the second intifada began when the Sharon entered the al-Aqsa mosque compound in 2000 and when Palestinians protested gainst the assasination of 12-year-old Mohammad al-Doura in Gaza Strip.
