The Land Research Center (LRC) reported that the Israeli Authorities, the police and the army carried out 35 attacks against the residents and their property in occupied East Jerusalem in October. In cooperation with the Civil Coalition for Defending Palestinian Rights in Jerusalem, the LRC issued a report revealing that at least eleven attacks targeted the resident’s right to live in the city, and that two floors of a four-story building in Beit Hanina, in occupied East Jerusalem, were demolished.
The LRC added that the systematic Israeli attacks against the residents were accompanied by repeated attacks carried out by Jewish settlers against the Palestinians in Jerusalem, as the settlers attacked dozens of residents including children, especially in Silwan.
The report indicated that settlement activities in the occupied city are escalating, with the settlers manage to construct dozens of units in Ramat Shlomo settlement, and bulldoze Palestinian lands owned by the residents of Hizma town, as Israel intends to expand the illegal settlements of Gilo and Har Homa (Jabal Abu Ghneim), south of Jerusalem.
Last month, settlers torched a church in the Old City of Jerusalem. The settlers broke a number of windows of the church and hurled Molotov cocktails inside setting the church ablaze causing excessive damage.
