Israeli military raided, on Monday, a university dormitory in Jenin, officially in search of wanted Palestinians. One man was briefly detained during the raid. According to Ma’an News, eight military units entered dormitory rooms of the Arab American University. A security guard was arrested as he was trying to prevent the soldiers from accessing the women’s area.
Local witnesses reported that the army installed two checkpoints, one between Rummana and Zububa villages, west of the city, and the other between the village of Zabda and the university. Locals also claimed the army raided the nearby villages of Kafr Ra’i and Fahma, southwest of Jenin.
An army spokeswoman confirmed to Ma’an News that one checkpoint had been installed and quickly removed near Zububa. However, she stated that she was not aware of any raid in the area.
