Medical sources at the Palestine Medical Center In Ramallah reported on Monday morning that the child, who was hit by a gas bomb fired by the army last Friday, was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit after a sharp deterioration in his health condition.The child, Mohammad Bilal Tamimi, was hit by a gas bomb directly fired at him by a soldier as the Israeli army was invading Nabi Saleh village, near the central West Bank city of Ramallah, during the weekly nonviolent protest against the Annexation Wall and illegal settlements.
The child’s father stated that after conducting MRI Scans and a number of additional lab tests and examinations, it became apparent that the child suffers from injuries that are affecting his liver and kidneys.
The Popular Committee Against the Wall and Settlements issued a statement holding the Israeli occupation responsible for the attack against the child, and adding that targeting children is a calculated policy practiced by Israeli troops in direct violation to International Law and basic principles of Human Rights.
It called on international human rights groups to stand by the Palestinian people and to expose the Israeli crimes against them.
Weekly nonviolent protests are held in different Palestinian villages and towns with the participation of Israel and international peace activists.
The army counters these protests with brutal force an issue that led to dozens of casualties.
Soldiers also repeatedly kidnap and imprison local leaders of the nonviolent popular resistance movement in Palestine.
