Unknown persons detonated, on Wednesday at dawn, that a pipeline that transports natural Gas from Egypt to Jordan and Israel. The explosion took place at near the Al Arish Egyptian city.The Qatar-based, Al Jazeera, reported that the explosion took place approximately at 4 at dawn, Cairo time, and that ambulances and fire-trucks rushed to the explosion site.
An Egyptian security official told Reuters that, following the explosion, Egypt shut down the main pipeline in an attempt to control the fires.
It is worth mentioning that this is the same line that was attacked on February 5th this year.
Israel receives %40 of natural gas needs from Egypt as part of the Egypt-Israeli peace accord of 1979.
