Israeli soldiers kidnapped on Saturday a Palestinian resident, active in nonviolent resistance against the Annexation Wall and settlements, in Beit Ummar Town, north of the southern West Bank city of Hebron.The resident was identified as Yousef Abdul-Hamid Abu Maria, 38. He was taken prisoner after the army violently broke into his home and searched.
Israeli repeatedly kidnaps and imprisons Palestinians who are active in nonviolent resistance in an attempt to silence the nonviolent protests that are usually met with excessive use of force by the Israeli army. Dozens of casualties, including among international and Israeli activists, were reported in different parts of the West Bank due to these Israeli military attacks.
On Friday, soldiers attacked several nonviolent protests in a number of West Bank villages, mainly in Bil’n, Ni’lin and Nabi Saleh, near the central West Bank city of Ramallah, in addition to attacking nonviolent protesters in Al Ma’sara village, near Bethlehem, and in Kafr Qaddoum village, near the northern West Bank city of Nablus.
