The Arab 48 News Agency reported on Thursday that dozens of Jewish settlers invaded the courtyards of Al Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, and performed ‘religious rituals’ amid tight security by the Israeli police.Palestinian media quoted from witnesses that the invading operation was accompanied by a Minister of the Israeli government, in addition to a TV crew which filmed the several corners of the mosque and its courtyards.
The Head of Media in Al-Aqsa Foundation, Mahmoud Abu Ata, said that this new invasion occurred after the announcement by Jewish groups of a programme of celebrations for the 45th anniversary of the occupation of the two parts of the city of Jerusalem. He said that elebrations began on Friday morning and will end on Monday evening.
