A mentally ill prisoner from Jenin was released by the Israeli military at a checkpoint near Hebron on Tuesday and is now missing according to relatives.Ma’an News reported that Mohammad Qabha, 26, was released after 50 days in an Israeli military prison. His family submitted evidence of his mental status and was able to gain his release according to a relative, Ahmad al-Sherif.
He had been imprisoned for being inside Israel without a permit. Prior to his arrest, Qabha often wandered the streets according to relatives.
He has not been seen since his release and the family pleaded with people in the Hebron area to aid in their search for the missing youth.
