Palestinian medical sources in the Gaza Strip reported Monday that a young Palestinian man died of wounds suffered Sunday after the Israeli army bombarded Rafah, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip wounding ten Palestinians, three seriously.Dr. Ashraf Al-Qudra, spokesperson of the Ministry of Health in Gaza, told the Quds Press news agency that Abdullah Hasan Makkawi, 25, died of his serious injuries Monday.
Eyewitnesses said that the army fired two missiles at a motorcycle driving in Al-Barazil neighborhood, in Rafah, leading to ten injuries.
On Sunday, Al-Qudra that five children, including an infant, were among the injured in the Israeli attack.
He added that the Israeli missiles were fired into a crowded area, including school students who were leaving evening school and heading home.
Israeli army spokesperson, Afihai Adra’ei, claimed that the attack targeted two fighters of the Hamas movement, identified as Tal’at Khalil Jerby and Mohammad Hussein.
Palestinian resistance groups responded to the Israeli escalation by firing several homemade shells into military bases in the western Negev, and into nearby Israeli settlements.
