The Israeli TV reported that a group of extremist Israeli settlers violently assaulted a number of undercover soldiers of the Israeli army thinking they were Palestinians. The incident took place east of Yatta town, near the southern West Bank city of Hebron.
The TV published a video showing the settlers violently assaulting the undercover forces, inflicting serious injuries, the Maan News Agency reported.
The undercover soldiers were shouting and trying to tell the settlers they are actually soldiers, but the settlers continued to beat and kick them until Israeli soldiers arrived at the scene.
The soldiers later chased the settlers and managed to apprehend them.
A lawyer representing the settlers demanded their release, claimed that the army ambushed them, and conducted provocative acts.
The location where the attack took place witnessed dozens of attacks carried out by extremist Israeli settlers against the Palestinians.
Israeli settlers repeatedly attack Palestinians in different parts of the West Bank, and are responsible for dozens of attacks against Palestinian farmlands and orchards, property and holy sites.
