Four Palestinians were killed, five injured, as Israel continues to target the Gaza Strip, and troops invade West Bank communities conducting military training. These stories, and more, coming up, stay tuned.
Four Palestinian men were reported killed, five injured, by Wednesday as Israeli aerial bombardment against Gaza continued until the early morning hours. Palestinian sources said that Mahmourd Abu Jalhum, 27, was pronounced dead on Wednesday morning after succumbing to wounds he sustained last night.
Abu Jalhum was injured last night when an Israeli war jet fired a missile at a group of residents in Beit Lahiya town northern Gaza Strip. Two were killed and five injured in the night attack. Also on Wednesday Mohamed Khalil, 30, was killed when Israeli fighter jets tragted the city of Rafah, southern Gaza strip.
With the two killed today the number of Palestinians killed by Israeli attacks since Monday now reached six and about 12 injured. According to local sources Israel conducted 11 air raids since Tuesday night against Gaza.
From its part, Palestinian armed resistance groups fired 50 home-made shells at Israeli targets near the Gaza strip as a response to the Israeli escalated attacks targeting the coastal region.
Palestinian sources said that fighters announced that they formed a joined operation center to counter any Israeli wide scale attack targeting Gaza. Israeli sources said that 6 Israelis were injured due to the Palestinian home-made shells fire.
In other news Israeli troops arrested four protesters near the central West Bank city of Ramallah on Wednesday. A group of Palestinians and international conducted a set-in at the settlers’ super market near Ramallah.
The store belongs to Rami Livi stores corporation which market Israeli settlements products for Palestinian consumers. Israeli troops arrived at the scene and used rifle buts and batons to force nonviolent protesters out before arresting two Palestinians and two internationals.
Among the arrested was Bassem Al Tammimi who was badly injured and was moved by Israeli troops to a hospital after they arrested him.
In other news Israeli soldiers invaded, overnight, several areas near the northern West Bank city of Jenin, and conducted military training in a number of villages while military helicopters flew overhead, local sources reported.
Dozens of Israeli soldiers and paratroopers were deployed in and around the villages of Al-Kafeer and Aqaaba, south of Jenin, and fired rounds of live ammunition while military helicopters fired flares as the army conducted its training.
