Wednesday evening, April 17, 2013, Israeli soldiers kidnapped two Palestinians at the Container Roadblock, near occupied East Jerusalem, and took them to the Police station in Maale Adumim. A Third Palestinian was kidnapped near Hebron.Local sources reported that the soldiers stopped a Palestinian vehicle trying to cross the roadblock, and searched it, before kidnapping the two.
One of the kidnapped Palestinians is the brother of detainee Ashraf Abu Threi’, from Beit Awwa, near the southern West Bank city of Hebron.
The army also intensified its measures at the roadblock, and searched dozens of vehicles while inspecting the ID card of the residents.
The Container roadblock splits the West Bank in half dividing the north from the south, directly affecting the lives of the Palestinians. Although the roadblock has not been closed in recent months, soldiers continue to be stationed there, and randomly stop people.
In related news, soldiers kidnapped a Palestinian youth in Beit Ummar town, near Hebron, in the southern part of the occupied West Bank.
Israeli soldiers conduct arrests and invasions into different parts of the occupied West Bank on a daily basis; the army also repeatedly installs temporary roadblocks on several roads linking between different parts of the occupied West Bank.
