Welcome to Palestine Today, a service of the International Middle East Media Center, www.imemc.org, for Wednesday May 8th, 2013.

Israeli troops invade West Bank communities, arrest civilians and demolish two homes. These stories, and more, coming up, stay tuned.

On Wednesday at dawn Israeli soldiers invaded the northern West Bank district of Nablus, and kidnapped nine Palestinians.

The soldiers also fired several rounds of live ammunition into the air, broke into and searched several homes, and confiscated property.

Local sources in Nablus city reported that dozens of Israeli military jeeps invaded several neighborhoods in the city, and kidnapped three Palestinians after breaking into and searching their homes.

Furthermore, the army invaded Beit Forik town, east of Nablus, and kidnapped six Palestinians.

Also on Wednesday, Israeli soldiers kidnapped the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and the Holy Land, Sheikh Mohammad Hussein, after surrounding his home and breaking into it.

The Mufti was moved to the Al-Maskobiyya police stations and interrogation center.

Elsewhere Israeli soldiers invaded, on Wednesday morning, the Al-‘Oja village in Jericho, demolished two Palestinian homes, and handed orders for the demolition of five more homes in the village.

Local sources reported that the army invaded the area and demolished the two homes under the pretext that they were built without a construction permit from Israel, as they are located in “Area C” under Israeli control.

The sources said that the two homes are located within the village’s limits, and its construction jurisdiction, and added that the home were built more than seven years ago.
