Head of the Political Bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), Khaled Mashal, called for launching massive popular, armed, resistance against Israel, and said that only armed resistance can deter Israel.Mashal slammed the Palestinian Authority (P.A) in the West Bank for what he called “criminalizing armed resistance”, and added that by dropping the option of armed resistance, Arab States and the P.A. have lost the ability to deter Israel and its escalating violations.
The Hamas official said that Israel is trying to divide the Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem, “as the first stage before demolishing it”, and that Tel Aviv is using the current situation in the Arab world to conduct “its taboo action”.
“We need to take a clear stance, Jerusalem is a Red Line”, he said, “Jerusalem is the soul of the cause”.
He further stated that “it is essential to keep the resistance strong”, and that Arab nation must focus on liberating and protecting Jerusalem.
“The most dangerous issue that threatens Palestine is a stable Israel”, Mashal added, “All factions must agree on a unified strategy and a unified goal”.
“The Intifada, the armed resistance, prevented Israel from demolishing the Al-Aqsa Mosque”, he added, “Our only path to liberation is resistance, and saving Jerusalem”.
It is worth mentioning that the Zaman Turkish paper has quoted an adviser to Turkish Prime Minister, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, stating that Mashal and Erdogan will be holding a meeting soon to discuss several regional issues, the situation in Gaza, and the relations between the rival Fateh and Hamas movements.
