Israeli media sources have reported that the Israeli Air Force carried out, late on Monday evening, various air strikes targeting what was described as targets that belong to the Lebanon-based Hezbollah party. The sources said that the targets in southern Lebanon include rocket launch pads, south of Baalbek town, in the Beqaa Valley.
An Israeli military official claimed the targets are also used as training grounds of Hezbollah fighters, and that the targets were “successfully hit”, the Palestine News Network (PNN) has reported.
The al-Manar News Agency, run by Hezbollah in Lebanon, said Israeli war jets frequently have invaded Lebanese airspace in southern Lebanon, starting on Monday at noon.
Israel said that its flights were intended at preventing the smuggling of weaponry from Syria to fighters of Hezbollah party in Lebanon.
