[Thursday, April 3, 2014] Dozens of Israeli soldiers invaded the Jabal al-Baba Bedouin area, east of the al-Ezariyya town, east of occupied East Jerusalem, demolishing several Palestinian agricultural sheds and residential structures.Hani Halabiyya, spokesperson of the Popular Resistance Committee in Abu Dis, stated that Israeli bulldozers demolished at least three residential structures belonging to residents Mahmoud Ibrahim Jahalin and Salem Kayed Jahalin.
Each of the demolished structures is about 120 – 150 square/meters, the Palestinian News & Info Agency (WAFA) has reported.
Halabiyya added that the soldiers also demolished barns, chicken farms and a tent installed by the residents in Jabal al-Baba.
Halabiyya said the destruction of Palestinian property in the Jabal (Mountain) al-Baba area could escalate, as Israel is trying to illegally confiscate the area in order to build and expand its illegitimate settlements.
He added that the area, labeled by Israel as E1, is known as Younis Grandchildren, where peace activists installed the Younis Grandchildren protest village that was violently removed by Israel.
Halabiyya further stated that all structures in Jabal al-Baba (1000 dunams of land), are subject to destruction by the army, as Israel has already handed orders targeting 22 wooden and tin structures (small mobile homes), WAFA said.
Also on Thursday, soldiers invaded Halhoul town, north of the southern West Bank city of Hebron, breaking into and searching several homes, and kidnapping one Palestinian, identified as Saed Zama’ra, 23.
