Three people killed and five injured in a blast which hit the city of Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip, on Wednesday. The source of the blast is so far unidentified.According to the PNN, the injured and killed were transferred to the European Hospital in Kahn Younis. The bodies of two of the killed Palestinians were badly charred and torn from the blast.
The Ministry of the Interior of Gaza’s deposed government said that ‘the blast was caused by a fire that broke out in a house. However, according to Palestinian security sources, the circumstances behind the explosion were not clear.’
The ministry added that among the injured were four of the firemen who were injured in another explosion while they were rescuing the victims of the first explosion caused by the fire.
A number of Palestinian media sources reported that the victims were injured while preparing explosives. They were identified as Abu Ashour Hajji, Yousif Thabit and Rami Mishmish.
Reportedly they belonged to the militant wing of the Al-Qassam Brigades.
