As violence escalates in the region and shops close across the West Bank and Jerusalem in solidarity with an ever growing number of hunger striking Paletinian detainees, a ministerial committee has been scheduled to convene by the end of June, in Ramallah, to study submitting letters of accession by Palestine to more multilateral international treaties. Palestinian diplomats told Ma’an News Agency, on Wednesday, that the committee would meet between June 25 and 27 to review more letters of accession. The committee is headed by Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki, Ma’an reports, with senior PLO negotiator Saeb Erekat and Palestinian UN envoy Riyad Mansour also holding membership with the committee.
According to the sources, Palestinian leadership has plans to join some 500 more international conventions and organizations.
