Since the destruction of the cemetery compound in Al-‘Araqib on June 12, the residents of the village holds a persistent struggle and continue to stay in the area despite the extreme heat, the Ramadan fast that began this week and the lack of shelter from the hot sun.
During the passed weeks, demolition forces came over to destroy every hut that was built in the area and cut every shed. Police and ILA inspectors continued to visit the area and blow dust at the residents with their vehicles.
On Wednesday (2.7) large police force arrived at the village accompanied by a couple of tractors and began to plow the area of the village and the area of the cemetery, probably in order to build a new fence for the cemetery that will reduce its area.
