Dozens of individuals have been injured after Israeli forces opened live fire on Hebron residents celebrating the capture of an Israeli soldier in Gaza and protesting in solidarity with the besieged Palestinian territory, which saw at least 100 killed by Israeli forces on Sunday. Hamas has confirmed that 10 fighters have recently been killed.Abdallah al-Qawasemi, medical director of Hebron Governmental Hospital, said that 20 youth had been taken to the hospital following the incident, according to Ma’an.
Rallies also took place in Halhoul, al-Arroub refugee camp, al-Fawwar refugee camp, Ramallah, and other cities and towns across the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem, in response.
Confrontations with Israeli police also occurred in occupied East Jerusalem during the rallies.
Ma’an further reports that, earlier, al-Qassam Brigades had announced the capture of an Israeli soldier in Gaza, where military assaults have killed nearly 500 Palestinians — and approximately 200 in the past three days — since Israel began its extensive raids on the region nearly two weeks ago.
The Brigades additionally declared, on Monday, that 10 of its fighters were killed in an operation in eastern Beit Hanoun, in northern part of the Gaza Strip.
12 fighters infiltrated an Israeli military site in the area, completely burning a jeep with an RPG shell before being targeted by Israeli warplanes and special forces. 10 fighters were killed during the operation; two safely retreated.
