Several Israeli military vehicles and jeeps invaded, on Wednesday, Palestinian farmlands in the southern area of Ya’bad town, north of the northern West Bank city of Jenin, and installed what seems to be a temporary army post.Local sources said the soldiers invaded the al-Malloul area, in the southern part of Ya’bad, and installed several tents, while dozens of soldiers were deployed in and around the area after declaring it a “closed military zone.’
The sources added that the lands in question are located between the town and the Dotan illegal Israeli settlement, and that the army did not even officially inform the families, and also said the area is now a closed military zone.
The Local Council in Ya’bad said the town is subject to ongoing invasions, arrests and assaults, and that Israeli settlers living in illegal settlements in the area, are also responsible for dozens of attacks.
The villages fear they are about to lose more of their lands and orchards for the benefit of the illegal construction and expansion of settlements, as well as more military sites.
