A Palestinian girl suffered fractures and bruises, on Tuesday, after being hit by a settlement guard’s jeep in the Ein al-Lawza area of the Silwan neighborhood, occupied East Jerusalem, according to her family.Mariam Karim Dana, age 10, was hit as the vehicle was speeding between houses, Dana’s brother Amer said.
He said that the car stopped after Mariam fell down, but backed up again, hitting her leg.
Israeli police arrived at the scene, according to Ma’an, but allowed the driver to leave without being detained or questioned.
Mariam is currently in Hadassa hospital with a broken left foot and bruises in her back and neck, and her family is preparing to file an official complaint against the driver.
In September, settlers occupied 23 houses in Silwan and forcibly evicted the residents of an apartment.
