Tunis, 12-10-2024, WAFA – Amnesty International said that “Israel continues to cover up the crimes and violations of the genocide war in Gaza, by preventing foreign journalists from reaching the Palestinian territories, especially the Strip.”

This came during a press conference held by the international human rights organization (Tunisian branch) in the Tunisian capital yesterday, under the title “The Voice of Palestine… Tones of Freedom and the Call for Human Rights.”

A member of Amnesty International, Ahmed Karoud, said during the conference that “the Israeli occupation state’s prevention of foreign journalists from reaching the Palestinian territories, especially the Gaza Strip, aims to cover up the crimes committed against civilians and the serious violations that amount to genocide.”

Karoud considered that “the journalist in Palestine is not only a news transmitter, but a witness to the events, and therefore the occupation state’s refusal to allow journalists to enter aims to prevent them from being witnesses to the atrocities committed by its army.”

He pointed out that “the targeting of Palestinian journalists by the occupying state has led to the martyrdom of more than 160 of them, in addition to the injury, disappearance or arrest of many other journalists. –
