On Thursday night and Friday dawn, Israeli soldiers abducted a young Palestinian man and searched many villages near Jenin in the northern part of the occupied West Bank. The army said a soldier was mildly injured in a shooting incident.
Media sources said the soldiers abducted a young man, Omran Raed Atatra, from Ya’bad town, southwest of Jenin.
They added that Omran was taken prisoner when the soldiers stopped and searched many cars and interrogated the Palestinians at a military roadblock on the Jenin-Nablus Road, near the illegal Shavei Shomron illegal colony, built on stolen Palestinian lands to the west of Nablus, in the northern West Bank.
On Friday dawn, the soldiers invaded Faqqu’a, Arbouna, and Al-Jalama and conducted extensive searches.
Protests occurred in Al-Jalama after the soldiers installed a roadblock at the village entrance, searched cars, and interrogated the Palestinians while inspecting their ID cards.
According to Israeli National News, a soldier was a light shrapnel wound in the leg in a shooting incident between the illegal colonies of Homesh and Shavei Shomron before he was treated at the scene and taken to a hospital.
The sources said Palestinian fighters fired five live rounds at the soldiers from the direction of Deir Sharaf before the army initiated a search campaign in the area.
