At dawn on Monday, Israeli soldiers abducted five Palestinians from their homes in Yatta, south of Hebron, and Beit Ummar, north of the city, in the occupied West Bank’s southern part, and assaulted several members of one of the abductees’ family.
Media sources reported that many army jeeps invaded Yatta before the soldiers stormed and ransacked several homes, causing damage.
They added that the soldiers abducted Emad Al-Ghafi, Omar Al-Ghafi, Anas Al-Ghafi, and Rami Najjar.
In addition, the soldiers abducted a young man from Beit Ummar after invading his family’s home and severely assaulting his father, brother, and cousin.
Mohammad Ayyad Awad, a media activist in Beit Ummar, reported that the Israeli soldiers invaded the Khallet as-Sukkar village, north of Beit Ummar, storming and ransacking three homes, destroying doors, belongings, furniture, and bedrooms.
Awad added that the soldiers assaulted the residents, including Khalil Ali Aqel Ekhlayyil, 56, his son Mohammad, 28, and Ahmad Ibrahim Ali Aqel Ekhlayyil, 32, who sustained various bruises and injuries and were taken to Hebron Governmental Hospital by the Red Crescent in Beit Ummar for treatment.
Awad stated that before the forces withdrew from the area, they assaulted and abducted Ali Khalil Ali Aqel Ekhlayyil, 22.
The soldiers also installed roadblocks in several areas of the Hebron Governorate, stopped and searched cars, and interrogated many Palestinians while inspecting their ID cards.
In related news, the soldiers abducted three Palestinians in Nablus and Bethlehem, in the occupied West Bank.
