Israeli forces abducted, on Sunday, several Palestinian citizens in the governorates of Tubas, Jericho, Ramallah, and Hebron, in the occupied West Bank.
On Sunday night, Israeli forces abducted a Palestinian citizen of the Jenin governorate while he was passing through the Karama crossing, east of Jericho in the northeastern part of the West Bank.
According to the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) Israeli forces abducted the young man, Laith Akram Hoshiya, when he was passing through the Karama border crossing.
At dawn Sunday, Israeli forces abducted three citizens in the Tubas governorate, in the northeastern part of the West Bank.
According to Kamal Bani Odeh, the director of the PPS in Tubas, soldiers invaded Wadi Al-Far’a, southwest of Tubas, searched several citizens’ homes, detained three young men, abducting one, identified as Hamza Matar Salahat, and releasing the other two.
Odeh added that soldiers abducted the young man, Ahmad Hussein Janajra, 20, when he was passing through the Hamra military roadblock, southeast of Tubas, and invaded the home of Rami Khader Mohammad Bisharat, 40, before abducting him in the village of Tammun, south of the city.
Meanwhile, in the central West Bank, Israeli forces invaded the town of Silwad, northeast of Ramallah, conducted a large-scale search operation, detaining and interrogating several Palestinian citizens.
Media sources said that occupation forces stormed the town at dawn, invaded and ransacked many citizens’ homes, and detained at least sixteen Palestinians, many of whom were later reported to have been released; the number of those abducted and their identities were unknown at the time of writing this report.
Sources added that soldiers caused damage to the windows of several homes and assaulted many citizens during their detention and interrogation.
The army also invaded the town of Birzeit and the village of Umm Safa, north of Ramallah, on Sunday evening, and stormed at least one citizen’s home; no abductions were reported.
Furthermore, Israeli forces assaulted the citizen, Muhammad Al-Zein, an employee of the Islamic Endowments Department while he was working at the Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem; he was transported to hospital for treatment.
Moreover, Israeli troops abducted five Palestinians in the town of Doura, southwest of Hebron in the southern West Bank, on Sunday morning.
Media sources said that the army invaded the town, stormed and ransacked the homes of the citizens, Maamoun Ibrahim Nassar, Ali Talib Al-Haroub, Amir Saeed Amr, Ibrahim Abdel Hadi Al-Sharha, and Amjad Saeed Amr, before abducting them.
In related news, occupation forces abducted a Palestinian citizen and his two minor sons in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, after they confronted illegal Israeli colonizers who prevented them from entering their own lands.
According to a statement from the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) and the Commission of Detainees’ and Ex-Detainees’ Affairs, at least fifteen Palestinian citizens, including former prisoners, were abducted by occupation forces between Saturday evening and Sunday morning, in the Hebron, Tubas, Ramallah, and Jerusalem governorates.
The statement added that the total number of abductions since October 7, 2023 has reached more than 9,550, including those who were abducted from their homes, through military roadblocks, those who were forced to surrender themselves under pressure, and those who were held hostage.
