At dawn on Thursday, Israeli soldiers invaded al-‘Ein refugee camp west of Nablus, in the northern part of the occupied West Bank, abducting a young man and advancing into several neighborhoods across the city, before firing gas bombs and concussion grenades, triggering a fire near the National Hospital.
Media sources reported that Israeli military vehicles invaded al-‘Ein refugee camp, stormed civilian homes, ransacked their contents, and abducted Suhaib Nader Ahmad Khaled from his family’s residence.
Troops also invaded multiple areas within Nablus’s Old City, where they destroyed memorials and images honoring Palestinians slain by Israeli soldiers and paramilitary colonizers.
The invasion led to protests, after which soldiers fired tear gas and stun grenades near the National Governmental Hospital in central Nablus, causing a fire in its vicinity.
Local sources confirmed that municipal firefighters extinguished flames that had engulfed cypress trees surrounding the hospital.
The fire caused power outages in parts of the facility and damaged several departments due to heavy smoke, prompting the evacuation of some patients.
In related news, Israeli occupation forces abducted eight Palestinians from their homes in Bethlehem and Qalqilia, in the occupied West Bank.
