On Monday, Israeli soldiers demolished several commercial structures in Barta’a town and Al-Mansoura village, located northwest and south of Jenin in the occupied West Bank’s northern region.
Ghassan Kabaha, the mayor of Barta’a, stated that soldiers, accompanied by several military vehicles including bulldozers, invaded the town and demolished three commercial structures.
Kabaha added that the demolished structures, owned by Hani Jabr, Mohammad Fayez Kabaha, and Shoqeir Abdul-Majid Hijja, were situated at the western entrance of the town.
He also noted that this marks the second time the army has demolished the store of Hani Kabaha in the last two months. Kabaha emphasized that the demolished structures provided livelihoods for more than twenty families.
Additionally, the soldiers demolished three commercial structures near the main entrance of Al-Mansoura village, located on the main Nablus-Jenin road. Earlier on Monday, the army also demolished three commercial structures at the entrance of Barta’a town.
Jenin, the Jenin refugee camp, and several surrounding towns have been subjected to massive Israeli invasions over the past 60 days, resulting in the destruction of dozens of homes and businesses, alongside extensive damage to infrastructure.
During these invasions, the army abducted at least 230 Palestinians have been abducted across the Jenin Governorate since the military campaign began in late January.
The ongoing Israeli escalation has led to the displacement of around 21,000 residents from Jenin refugee camp who fled to areas in Jenin city and nearby villages and towns.
According to the Jenin Municipality, Israeli forces have issued demolition orders for 66 buildings, including approximately 300 homes in refugee neighborhoods like Al-Aloub, Al-Hawashin, and Al-Samran.
Families have been prevented from returning to their homes to retrieve personal belongings.
The municipality also reported that the army has bulldozed 100% of the streets in the Jenin refugee camp and nearly 80% of the roads in Jenin city, leaving 3,200 households forcibly displaced from their homes.
Since the aggression began, the Israeli violations in Jenin have resulted in the killing of 34, dozens of injuries, and hundreds of abductions.
The relentless invasions have extended to nearby villages, towns, and homes across the governorate, deepening the region’s humanitarian crisis.
The number of slain Palestinians in the West Bank since the beginning of this year is now 109; 49 in Jenin, 19 in Tubas, 14 in Tulkarem, 13 in Nablus, 5 in Hebron, 3 in Bethlehem, 2 in Qalqilia, 1 in Salfit, 1 in Ramallah, and 2 in Jerusalem.
