Illegal Israeli colonizers shot, on Sunday evening, an elderly Palestinian man near the town of Tarqoumia, northwest of Hebron in the southern occupied West Bank.

Media sources said that an illegal colonizer opened fire with live rounds towards a Palestinian man, identified as Ahmed Abdel Qader Al-Marqatan, 65, while he was on his land in the “Al-Taybeh” area near the town of Tarqoumia.

The elderly man was transported to hospital for treatment after the armed paramilitary settler shot him in the foot with live ammunition.

It was added that occupation forces closed the main entrances to the towns of Halhoul and Sa’ir, north and northeast of Hebron, and the northern entrance to the city of Hebron.

Soldiers also closed the entrances to the towns of Ethna, and Tarqoumia, west and northwest of the city, and obstructed citizens’ movement.

Meanwhile, on Sunday afternoon, a group of colonizers, under the protection of the occupation army, invaded Palestinian-owned land, near the village of Qarawat Bani Hassan, northwest of Salfit in the central West Bank.

Media sources said that Israeli colonists stormed the “Jabal Al-Ruwais” area, northwest of Qarawat Bani Hassan village, while Palestinian citizens attempted to confront them.

Occupation forces opened fire towards the Palestinian citizens who were defending their land, rather than stopping the settler attack; no injuries were reported.
