On Wednesday, illegal Israeli colonizers assaulted the citizens, Jamal Ghaith, his wife, and his children, after storming the rooftop of their home in the Batn al-Hawa neighborhood of Silwan town, in East Jerusalem.
Media sources said that illegal settlers invaded the roof of the home belonging to Jamal Ghaith, and removed its contents, in an attempt to occupy it, claiming it was part of the Palestinian-owned home that colonizers took over on Tuesday.
Sources added that occupation police proceeded to abduct the wife of the citizen, Jamal Ghaith, despite the illegal colonizers’ attack on the Ghaith family.
The Wadi Hilweh Information Center (Silwanic) reported that the occupation police also abducted the home-owner, Jamal Ghaith.
According to Faras Jibrini, the lawyer for the Wadi Hilweh Information Center, the woman, Nahil Ghaith, was released on the condition of five days of house arrest, and staying away from her home for 30 days.
The Israeli police remained in the neighborhood, keeping watch in the vicinity of the stolen home, providing full protection for the colonizers who emptied the home and ransacked it.
According to media sources, Israeli authorities gave the owner of the occupied home, Salem Ghaith, until December 10 to evacuate his home in the Batn al-Hawa neighborhood of Silwan town.
Israeli courts ruled to evict the Ghaith family from their home in favor of the illegal Israeli colonizers, under the pretext of “ownership of the land on which the building was built”.
In related news, Israeli municipality crews handed out demolition orders to Palestinians in the town of Al-‘Isawiya in East Jerusalem, taking photos of the targeted homes and their vicinity.
