Summary of the Palestinian Ministry of Health press briefing Monday Jan 29th 2024 – day 115 of the war on Gaza:
▪The Israeli occupation committed 14 massacres against families in the Gaza Strip, leaving 215 Palestinians killed and 300 injured during the past 24 hours
▪A number of victims are still under rubble and on the roads, and the Israeli occupation army has prevented ambulances and civil defense crews from reaching them.
▪The toll of the Israeli aggression has risen to 26,637 killed and 65,387 injured since October 7th 2023
▪The Israeli occupation is still tightening its siege of Nasser Medical Complex and Al Amal Hospital, which paralyzes the health system’s capabilities to rescue the wounded as a result of the siege and the exhaustion of many anesthesia medications. Intensive care, bone stabilizers and blood units
▪ We call on international institutions to quickly intervene to protect all hospitals, especially Khan Yunis hospitals, which are under direct targeting in these difficult times, to protect their staff, hundreds of wounded, and thousands of wounded, and to provide medicine, food, and fuel.
▪About 2 million displaced people are exposed to indescribable catastrophic levels as winter conditions intensify.
▪We monitored about 700,000 cases of infectious and skin diseases, colds, diarrhea, and hepatitis among the displaced as a result of overcrowding, fragility of shelter, lack of appropriate food and drinks, and the required medical care.
▪The Ministry of Health has opened 47 medical clinics in places of displacement in Rafah, and we urgently need the efforts of international institutions to provide more qualified medical points and provide the necessary medicines, especially for chronic diseases, pregnant women and children, as well as appropriate foods, potable water and personal hygiene.
▪We demand the provision of medical teams and field hospitals to support the health system in saving the lives of the wounded and sick as the Israeli aggression continues.
▪We call on all parties to work on the flow of medical aid that meets our health needs in these emergency circumstances of the ongoing aggression.
▪We call on the International Committee of the Red Cross and the World Health Organization to visit medical personnel detained by the Israeli occupation and press for their release.

Also, the Palestinian Red Crescent reported that on Monday, they received a call from a family trying to get help to reach safety. During the call, the car was bombed by Israeli forces, killing five civilians. Red Crescent medics then negotiated the release of a 7-year-old girl who was in a car with her father and four brothers when the car was bombed by Israeli forces, killing everyone but the little girl. The Israeli tanks surrounded the car, and the frightened child screamed for help. Ambulance crews communicated with her and calmed her down, then negotiated with the Israeli soldiers to allow them to enter and extract the child from among the bodies of her dismembered family members.

The family was trying to travel to safety from their home, which the Israeli occupation had declared a ‘closed military zone’,  targeting anyone who tries to move in the area.

Day 115: Israeli Missiles Kill Dozens In Gaza

On Monday, Day 115 of Israel’s ongoing onslaught on the Palestinian people in the devastated war-torn Gaza Strip, Israeli missiles and shells killed dozens of Palestinians and injured hundreds in several parts of the coastal enclave.

A Palestinian journalist working for the Resala Newspaper, Mohammad Abdul-Fattah Atallah, was killed along with his entire family when the army fired a missile at his home in the Shati refugee camp in Gaza.

His death brings the number of slain Palestinian journalists in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, to 122.

The Israeli army also fired missiles at more than five homes in the Rimal neighborhood in Gaza City, killing and wounding dozens of Palestinians.

Furthermore, the army fired shells at a school for the UNRWA in the Remal neighborhood,  where hundreds of Palestinians sheltered, killing at least ten Palestinians and wounding dozens.

The soldiers also detained and assaulted dozens of Palestinians, especially young men, near the school.

Medics rushed to the area, but the Israeli bombing and the massive destruction continued to hinder their efforts to reach it and begin the search for wounded and slain Palestinians.

In addition, Israeli drones fired two missiles at an ambulance in Gaza City, killing and wounding many Palestinians, while nobody could reach them due to continued bombing and siege on nearby Shifa Hospital.

The Israeli drones also fired many live rounds into the yards of the medical facility, causing several injuries.

The army also fired missiles at residents and a graveyard in central Gaza, in addition to firing missiles at homes in the Zeitoun and Sabra neighborhoods in Gaza City.

In northern Gaza, the army fired missiles at home homes in the Jabalia refugee camp and several shells into Beit Lahia, wounding dozens of Palestinians who were rushed to Kamal Adwan and the Indonesian hospital that already lacked basic supplies.

Five Palestinians were injured when an Israeli drone fired a missile at the Al-Awda Hospital in Jabalia refugee camp, in northern Gaza.

It is worth mentioning that the Israeli army continued the siege on Nasser Hospital and the Al-Amal Hospital in Khan Younis amidst extensive bombing and shelling of the eastern and western parts of the city.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) that runs Al-Amal Hospital said: “On the eighth day of targeting and besieging Al-Amal Hospital, the Israeli occupation continues its bombardment and gunfire in the vicinity of the hospital. Additionally, this morning, the Israeli occupation forces issued evacuation calls to all residents in the vicinity of the hospital and Al-Amal neighborhood.”

Also, the army fired missiles and shells at many homes and buildings in various parts of Khan Younis, killing 24 Palestinians.

Sources at the Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis said the Palestinians continue to bury the corpses of dozens of slain residents in the hospital’s yards due to Israel’s ongoing bombing and siege.

In central Gaza, the army fired a missile at a multi-story home for the Al-Matwi family in the Nusseirat refugee camp, killing 23 Palestinians, including women and children, and wounding dozens.

The army also bombed the home of Dr. Fawzi Nabulsiyya in Nusseirat, killing him and several members of his family and wounding many others.

Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor said it documented the Israeli army’s constant killing and displacement of Palestinian civilians in Gaza and the illegal policies of keeping the Palestinians facing famine and diseases.

Euro-Med said just 48 hours after the International Court ordered Israel to take all needed measures “to prevent genocide, including refraining from harming or killing Palestinians,” and “that Israel must urgently get basic aid to Gaza,” the Israeli army killed 373 Palestinians, including 345 civilians, and injured more than 643.

It added that Israel is ongoing with its serious violations, amounting to war crimes and crimes against humanity, including the ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people.
